Breaking Logan's Laws is a pretty typical Dane book. Fans of the author should relish the story and over the top romance while the somewhat corny style of writing isn't likely to bother familiar readers. The mystery is eclipsed past the exaggerated relationship which is unfortunate since information technology has all the elements of being engaging and intriguing. Yet, the men are cute and sweetness together which makes the story fun to read. This is an like shooting fish in a barrel, enjoyable story to read fifty-fifty if information technology runs a piffling long with Breaking Logan'south Laws is a pretty typical Dane book. Fans of the author should enjoy the story and over the top romance while the somewhat corny style of writing isn't likely to bother familiar readers. The mystery is eclipsed by the exaggerated relationship which is unfortunate since it has all the elements of being engaging and intriguing. Yet, the men are cute and sweet together which makes the story fun to read. This is an piece of cake, enjoyable story to read even if it runs a picayune long with too many repetitive sex scenes and not enough interest in the mystery portion.

The story features Logan and Nate from the previous Quinn books. You definitely don't accept to read the previous books to appreciate this one as the characters are peripheral at best in the other books. This time Logan and Nate are paired together on the case of a missing girl. Both men have been suppressing their want for each other so beingness thrown together immediately sets sparks flight. Both Nate and Logan are distracted from the case due to their chemistry and when they finally become together, Logan is overcome with emotion and may not be able to fully commit.

The plot is pretty basic with a boy meets boy but doesn't think they tin take each other theme. The mystery portion is really very good simply unfortunately the focus is ever on the sexual tension and romance portion. In fact so much and then that the mystery is difficult to connect to or intendance about. The various details are interesting and the terminal resolution pretty good but the characters are distracted by the tension and chemistry so they have frequent mental wanderings all focused on the sex they desire to be having instead of figuring out the mystery. The romance is definitely the nigh of import role with the missing girl case a very distant tertiary or fourth in importance. This keeps the mystery disconnected and about unimportant. Information technology's what keeps the characters and story moving along but the focus is solidly on the human relationship and sexual practice.

There is also a lot of sexual activity in this book. Definitely something to please Dane fans but I found my attention wandering some. Part of this is that I find the erotica writing to be so exaggerated, over the top, and rather corny that I don't find it that sexy or interesting. The prose tends to use "channel" "chute" "rectum" "fluttering passage" during the sex scenes which always yanks me out of the story with a cringe. Also phrases such as "fiery spasms stole control of Nate'south chute" or "Nate squeezed every muscle inside or most his ass, so damn hard he thought he stamped the shape of Logan'due south penis into his rectal walls."

Additionally the emotions tend to exist over the tiptop and exaggerated. The honey is always and so deep its unimaginable while the hurting is unfathomable and the pleasure bottomless and endless. Everything is heightened and exaggerated to extremes, especially during the scenes where Nate and Logan declare their love and devotion. This is definitely romantic to exist sure but it edges into corny for me somewhat with all the repetition. The various sex activity scenes feel too similar and Logan's delivery problem feels played out several times in what feel like identical scenes. This isn't so bad you want to throw the book but it does slow down the step and take away some involvement in the story.

The main characters are nicely fleshed out and very beautiful together. They take tons of chemistry and play off each other in sweet ways. It's besides sweet sometimes for me and the melodramatic tone to their emotions makes it hard to connect to them. However for those readers who enjoy a more dramatic love thing to their romance probably won't mind. I do like Dane'due south books and this i fits well with her backlist so fans will want to get this one. Personal taste varies on if BLL's will exist a favorite but the couple is worth reading.

Synopsis in short:
Nate recently joined Quinn Security and for his commencement case he's partnered with Logan, the human he met three years ago. Since then his vanquish has just grown. Logan has his own secret desires, simply he besides has rules when it comes to relationships. However, sweet Nate threatens to interruption down all his defenses.

Setting: Logan and Nate'south story is set in the globe of Quinn Security and the characters of the previous books in the series are making small appearances. Both Logan and Nate are investigators at Quinn Security and their beginning joint case is to find a missing young socialite. This brings some suspense and mystery to the plot, which is not as well complicated but nicely washed.

POV: 3rd person narration, from both heroes' perspectives. That'south how I like it best with most stories. It gives equal insight in both characters' thoughts and feelings, simply with well timed switches to the other perspective, and then that we as a reader don't know everything at all times (because that would exist boring).

H/H & characterization: Logan is the tall, dark and brooding type and Nate is the sweet, beautiful and happy one compared with Logan. Yet, Nate also has some darkness from his by to deal with. However, Logan is the 1 who has to come to terms with his adulterous former lover, the reason why he has all those laws. Both Nate and Logan are very likeable and sexy characters, with more layers than one. Their pairing is one of opposites attract, but they friction match, not only in bed and in daily life only also as investigating partners.
I also enjoyed the presence of their friends, quondam and new ones. The interaction with this supporting cast showed a lot virtually our chief heroes and made them three-dimensional as well.

Empathy level: These heroes moved me. Their disharmonize (mainly Logan's set of laws) wasn't likewise big but information technology was executed well, probably considering the writer succeeded in making me feel invested in them past the time things started to accident up.

Heat level: This couple certainly does steam up the pages, mainly in the second half of the book. There's get-go quite some build-up with splendid sexual tension and once they finally give in to their attraction there's no stopping them! Don't get me wrong, I'grand not complaining per se, merely these hot scenes were a scrap out of proportion with the remainder of the plot at that fourth dimension. They could've been shorter and much meliorate dosed. Still, 3 out of 3 flames

Angst level: Both heroes tugged at my eye strings in the same measure and I recollect I've probably used one or two out of three hankies

Overall amusement level: Both the honey story and the ongoing investigation held my undivided attention until the last folio. Although the pacing felt a bit off one time the hot smexing took place, this story kept being entertaining on more than than 1 level. For me, the effect of both the suspense plot and the romantic arc were satisfying. The extended cast with 'existent' characters was a nice bonus. And thinking about Nate (and Logan) still makes me smiling fifty-fifty now, about a month subsequently I read their story.

Final judgment:
Sexy & sweet hero thaws sexy & brooding hero. They make the pages sizzle while working on an interesting investigation.

3.75 stars. I could have given information technology 4 full stars if non for the overly-long sex session. The offset one-half (takes place one evening) was well done and brought back memories of a Cameron Dane that hooked me dorsum then with Renecade which I loved. Unfortunately, Logan and Nate go along the side by side morning and by the time I was done flipping page afterwards page of fucking, I was wearied. Ane can have too much of a good affair, after all.

Those who do similar their sex activity to cover several pages won't heed, I'm sure. For me, I enjoyed the suspense thread more and though at that place were many opportunities for Nate to turn out to exist some other TSTL MM hero, he was (thankfully) no such thing. When he needed to take off to handle something that came upwardly - and it was expedient to do so - he did go off on his own but would keep Logan informed fifty-fifty though he knew Logan would be having kittens. He didn't accept stupid risks and made sure Logan knew where he was. That is a lot more than most MCs do in the romance genre. It's as if you're a MC in a romantic suspense, you accept the license to practice the stupidest things to endanger yourself.

I love Nate. He's sane, smart and lovable.

For a homo who's a few years younger than Logan, Nate was a man who balanced self-conviction with what was realistic. He was never whiny with his demands and the mode he carried out his responsibilities showed any he expected of Logan as his partner wasn't unreasonable. There was enough in the suspense portion to keep me reading, expert plenty for me to set aside my complaints nigh turning hot, intense, emotionally-satisfying sex into a rather tedious chore to get over and done with.

I'd like to see Riley with a book of his own - searching for his missing sister, peradventure? BLL is and then much meliorate than the previous Quinn Security ( I Practice) which I felt was a scrap of a rip-off. If QS Book 4 is some other "real" book, I'chiliad definitely buying.

And this is for Kassa: Channel & Chute make several guest appearances in this installment. I came across i that fabricated me become "huh?" - 'dislocated and fluttering chute'. What the hell is that? It's Nate's chute, btw, and it'south not the simply time his 'chute' is fluttering either.

Logan and Nate, let me just say HOT HOT HOT. That is how I would draw this couple and this book. It was emotional and gritty and I sympathized with both MC's at some indicate, boy though they were hot. This was the longest volume in the series so far and I found myself wanting it to be longer. One of the things I've realized near Cameron Dane's books is that every emotion is felt to the tenth ability. Marlon Brando, Streetcar Named Desire, kneeling in the middle of the street, yelling "Steeellaaaaa"; that'due south the kind of intensity Cameron Dane seems to love.

This time around the story is about Nate and Logan. Logan is thirty-vi, an ex-detective, in the closet, more than than rough effectually the edges and Quinn's new head of investigations. Logan'due south like a pitbull. Nate is twenty-8, out, unbelievably sugariness and apparently the about ambrosial man on the planet. Nate is an eager puppy.

For Logan's first case he's given Nate as an assistant. They've known each other, and been fugitive each other for three years. Nate's all but in love with Logan, who he thinks is straight. Logan thinks Nate is the sexiest thing alive, only he also thinks that Nate is straight. Logan also has five laws he lives past and getting with Nate would break every one of those laws.

And then what are two guys to practice? I'll tell y'all what they practise; they piece of work a missing person example and wade effectually in an ocean full of sexual tension. For the get-go half of the volume these two guys trip the light fantastic toe around each other. Every time they beginning to get close they're interrupted. A telephone rings, somebody walks in, they see a suspect getting abroad...

The mystery in Breaking Logan's Laws isn't actually a main player. It's more of a device. I never actually cared about the missing girl or what the event would be where she was concerned. I did really like her brother Declan and I hope he gets his own book. I also liked the character of Riley, the brother of some other missing girl who gives upwards his career in law enforcement to find his sister. Riley's another ane that I promise gets a book.

All in all I liked Nate and Logan together. Nate could do no wrong. Every bit a matter of fact, he does everything right. Somehow this managed to keep from being annoying. I'll acknowledge that I take a loftier tolerance for perfection in characters, so while Nate didn't bother me he might bother other people.

Logan is the flawed character but I didn't understand why he was tortured. I thought that it might have been considering of the relationship with his ex but it was hinted at that Logan has always been tortured. I yet liked Logan though, because he does brand an effort to change throughout the book.

With Cameron Dane's books I tend not to question things too much. I merely become along for the ride. Fostered Honey, Finding Home and Something New are notwithstanding my favorites from her but Breaking Logan's Police is good. Expert enough to re-read? Yes, even adept plenty to re-read.

Fast forwards three years. Nate works for his sis at Quinn Security. Logan is just starting a job there as the head of the investigations section. He lost his previous task as a homiide detective, because of an injury. He also recently lost his (cheating) young man of 4 years.

Logan is still very angry and hurting. He'southward all the same in the closet and his these ridiculous laws when it comes to dating someone. He is still very attracted to Nate.

Nate is very much out of the closet and nevertheless has a large boner for Logan. Problem is, he doens't desire to show it, because he doens't desire to go crush up by another straight guy. Nate was a real sweetheart. I liked him a lot.

Ofcourse the 2 of them get paired together for Logans first case. There is a lot of sexual tension, just both guys have issues (especially Logan) so it takes them some time to act on it.

Once they do.....OMG freaking HOT !!! Some say the sexscenes were a chip to long...but I sure as shit did not mind one chip. Yous tin e'er skim, if y'all think information technology's to much :)

I liked the mystery of he example they were working. The outcome was a chip OTT, but I nevertheless enjoyed the storyline.

This is the tertiary book in the Quinn Security series I read and it's definitely the one I enjoyed the almost. Both because of the plot and because of the characterization.

I liked both Logan and Nate and appreciated that, even though Nate was a few years younger than Logan, he was level-headed, knew what he wanted and brought the much needed residuum in their relationship. Also, I kind of got why Logan had those laws and why he had to follow them but he could have done away with them much sooner, in my stance.

Strangely, the "I've been in love with you for as long as I've known you lot" concept used in all books in this series works well, in the sense that it makes the stories more conceivable. Take that chemical element away and I would be rolling my eyes on how Logan and Nate felt after a unmarried sexual come across. And so the detail that they have been (at least) lusting after each other for the final three years was fine by me.

The sex activity scenes were (as always in C. Dane's books) very hot but I constitute they dragged a bit and they could have been broken into more, smaller and more than gratifying ones. Non that I'yard lament!

I besides liked the crime/thriller office of the story quite much. Declan was non exactly my loving cup of tea-I wanted to smack him on the head and shout "get your shit together!" at him most of the time-but Pierce was an interesting character. In a Draco Malfoy kind of style :)

So, even though I'yard giving this three stars (I wish I could give it more than just that would mean giving it the same rating I gave Grey's Awakening and that one I adored), I'll definitely read whatsoever future books in this serial.

3.5 Stars I probably broke i of the cardinal rules of series reading--don't read out of order-- but I'chiliad not pitiful about it. I did skip the prior 3 books in the serial, i of which was a mf book, & I don't call back I missed likewise much by doing so.

Logan is a old detective & a new hire to Quinn Securities who kickoff met Nate iii years previously. In that location is a prologue that shows this meeting. Apparently they've run into each other on dissimilar occasions subsequently that but a human relationship betwixt the two never developed. Indeed, in this book Nate & Logan besides working together to solve a example, spend the get-go 40 per centum of the story circling & dancing around each other. There's a lot of 'cockblocking' (phones ringing, people interrupting etc) going on. You either like this style or not. In this story, information technology worked for me. Nate is a very squeamish, self deprecating & smart guy while Logan is a brooding tortured soul who is trying to live past certain rules or 'laws.' In that location was practiced character development & the two had good chemistry together.

The mystery/case to solve of finding a missing girl was fairly average. It does get points for no ane acting really stupid, endangering themselves for no reason & each character showed dissimilar strengths in the investigating. It does a nice job of showing Nate & Logan working as partners. Once the relationship develops, in that location is a lot of space given to show each graphic symbol's growth, strength & them working through their problems.

Unfortunately, at the halfway point we also get into excessively long sexual activity scenes. OK, I'll admit it'southward probably just a personal preference. But one sex activity scene went on for 15 pages--15 PAGES! Of the most excessively overly descriptive scene written in the purplest of purple prose with some of the almost unique & odd word choices. Afterwards, I was wiped out, and not in a good fashion.

I was still entertained by the majority of the story & liked the interaction betwixt the two guys. I like the way the author actually have them talk things through similar mature men. It made me forgive all the excessive sex scenes. There were some characters that were introduced like Riley, who I wouldn't heed reading more than about if he's the next series star.

Logan is an ex detective (known from previous books). He can exist gruff, alpha even so sweetness, sexy and has a set of laws that keep him distanced from, potentially, having his heart broken. Since his piece of work related injury had put him on desk duty he quit the force and joined Quinn Security. Now he is heading up a case about a missing girl from a wealthy family and is thrown in with Kasey's younger blood brother Nate. Logan is gay but is in the closet, not wanting it to be revealed, concerned it may touch on his working life.

Nate was introduced in The Ultimate Kink and has been working at Quinn Security for the past 3 years, keeping him in touch with, and burdensome on the sexy, older Logan. Nate is dealing with his ain past hurt and, as a outcome, is reluctant to reveal his sexuality and desires for Logan to Logan, fearful of painful repercussions. Nate is a really prissy, sugariness, honest character.

Breaking Logan's Laws really had a fast pace with an excellent plot that fabricated me race through to see who was behind the disappearance and other instance intrigues. I loved the ii MC's, Logan and Nate, they were interesting in their own right as well equally a sexy couple.

This book was another good read from Cameron Dane. Every bit per usual, I'thou totally fond to her writing. I hope there are more than to come in this series to feed this addiction.

This book made me realize that Cameron Dane could become a very successful mystery/murder author, if she wanted to. It's probably the most complete and complexe investigation she ever created (or any other authors of romance books, for that matter). The story was well-written and unpredictable, there was and then many leads in the investigation that I couldn't tell who was the murderer. I was shocked to learn who killed the victim.

Regarding the romance part of the book, it was actually good (as e'er with this author). The characters were likeable and I loved their development through the story. Nate was shy and uncertain at first, only then he started ascertaining himself and became an boggling confident man. I loved that, by the cease, he was ready to risk everything to win Logan's consummate love and devotion.

Equally for Logan, it was really interesting to meet the change operating in him through the story. From a rigid and strict man ruled past his laws, he became a more open up and tender human who accepted to show his vulnerability to the man he loved. I don't know why, but at first, I thought that Logan was bi. I was surprised to see that he was strictly gay, just I preferred information technology that manner. What I appreciated the virtually was the fact that the characters' evolution seemed believable, it was non forced or sudden. And in Logan's case, it was quite painful.

Ultimately, I really loved this book and the characters. It'due south my 2nd favorite of the series, after the start virtually Adam and Rhone.

>Read the unabridged serial except The Ultimate Kink

The books are quite well-written, just with several flaws that I can't seem to forgive.

The books are quite well-written, but with several flaws that I can't seem to forgive.

1. The characters tend to read like sexual offenders. I'm non a guy, only I somehow doubt that they get an erection staring at someone they've but met, or only about every fourth dimension they lay eyes on them.

2. The 'force of the relationship'/omgjuzrite thing that they feel for each other might be okay for a shifter story where they have a reason to mate for life or any, but in a contemporary setting, it's kind of unrealistic. Great chemistry is possible, but the characters act like they've never had good sex before.

3. The sexual practice is ten pages long. At least. It's boring. With Logan and Nate I half hoped they'd never confess their feelings simply so I don't accept to flip through moar sexual practice scenes.

4. Some parts of the story felt unnecessarily long. Particularly in the third and fourth book, where all the distrust and angst felt similar a fashion to add together to the word count and to add an extra make up sex scene. And every bit I've stated in No.iii, the sex scenes extend the word count immeasurably indeed.

five. I retrieve they should only change their name to Quinn Clemency.

Other than that, the books were a decent read.

I beloved Cameron Dane. It's hard to find erotica with an bodily plot, but non only do I stop upwards loving her characters, only they do more than than only sex activity each other up the entire time. Both characters have scars that make you ache for them both, and cheer when they finally requite in to their desires. The underlying mystery is interesting, and though y'all may guess at the catastrophe, I didn't. Or at least I got if half correct, anyhow :)

Logan's and Nate's story is both angsty and sweet, one time once more feeding my dear of hurt/comfort stories. Definitely recommended, equally is the series.

This was a miss for me unfortunately. I do enjoy this author's piece of work, only this but didn't piece of work at all. I didn't feel the connection between the characters. This wearisome burn attraction they had...didn't piece of work for me. The sex activity was too fast, the emotions were likewise potent given their interactions.

I liked Wes and Riley, hope to see more there.

This is the start book of the Quinn Security series that I've read and I loved it. I had some trouble with Logan'southward personality at starting time but I came to love his gruffness. Nate's total adorableness certainly made up for Logan's growling.

Besides the relationship of the two men and the steamy sex scenes the mystery itself was intricate and idea provoking.

I'm looking forward to reading some of the other books in the series.

Another steamy romance by Cameron Dane. Logan and Nate have great chemical science. I loved that Nate stood up to Logan, even though Logan is the older, more experienced and more than jaded of the two. Logan has too spent his whole life in the cupboard, so it is hard for him to express his feelings openly for Nate. The sex scenes are hot and long...simply how I similar them (and Cameron Dane excels at.) The concluding little bit of the story went off the tracks, but it came dorsum to a nice ending.
